How do I generate a new ID file?

I have a few problems. 1) Under Preview; if I put a count of 5, for instance, it stills fills the distribution surface completely. 2) When I render, the proxies render so huge that they cannot be seen. I have vray sp3 and I cannot get VrayScatter to work right at all. Is there a problem I should know about?
