I'd love to use regular pattern, leave the X and Y scales at 100% but control the Z with texture map. The rotation by texture works this way. Is it possible with Scale?
Blue = Z scale factor 0 to 1.0 then control overall scale factor in the spinner as it is now.

I would love to see this feature. I think it could generate some fantastic patterns with regular spacing. To get my fix, I wrote a little script that instances objects in a grid, scales and colors them according to pixel color of an image.
