Apply MultiscatterTexture to vrayproxies?

Post by catmig »

Hi there,

Is it possible to apply the MultiscatterTexture to a bunch of vrayproxies that were NOT scattered using multiscatter?
We had to actually use particle flow in this particular case, but i was looking for a good effective way to apply variation to some trees, and thought of using multiscattertexture for it.

Any way to accomplish this or i'll have to use some texture variation script? by the way, heres a very good one for vrayproxies, since it doesnt apply any material ID modifier on top.

Thanks!

Yes, MultiScatter texture can work with any objects. Only "object color" feature will not work.

Hello,

Would it also be possible to then use multiscattertexture along with other texture maps the proxies may have? imagine a tree with 2 submaterials, one for bark and other for leaves.

Could i apply the scatter map to the existing bitmaps, just to create color variations?

Thanks!

You can use MultiScatter texture in any composite materials or maps: mix, blend, composite ets
It gives possibility ti variate bitmap textures also.
