Position of source objects cause issues when scatter

Hey

I have some problems with scattering. Not sure if user error or bug. But:

I have 5 trees

I have them located at x y z > -500 -500 -500 and so on so they next to each other.

If I use them as source for scatter they do not touch ground. They feel offsetted and in incorrect placement. So far I had to make sure that all my pivots were at 0 0 0 and model is at 0 0 0 making it quite hard for me.

Am I doing something wrong? Why cant the source model be anywhere in the scene ?

2. Maya version
