I've got a wish list for the next update maybe !
- I've wrote it on an other post so i re-wrote the old wish i would to be done
- an application to the pproxy to made roof for exemple just with two polygon for surface, the possibility to move ich proxy with precision in every axis like the array in max.
- A cache file to save the proxy before the rendering
- A global tool or option to modify ALL the vrayscatter ON/OFF state and camera clipping for all, and why not a possibility to save a camera clipping state for specify camera (for closest view for exemple the camera clipping isn't the same as a large view)
- The precision trick in the forum is a great trick, thanks! so, why don't you create a tool to do this as a painter? duplicate polygon but automatically align to a surface (it's boring to do on an accidentary terrain...)
- presets?
- A tool to automatically convert an object to proxy and make the vrayscatter object with material will be a good thing...

It is against to main ideology of VrayScatter - VrayScatter don't save any information about locations and transformations of objects. It is calculates on fly and gives possibility to work with huge amount of objects very fast. If you need to place something "by hand" - just use copy or instancesraistlin wrote:Hi Icube !

For the first point i don't want to copy or instance one by one, but i'm thinking about an option to place proxy with precision, for roof "for exemple" and it's not incompatible with the "on the fly" vrayscatter princip. I'm thinking about an option to move every proxy onto a surface BUT precisely (move over each proxy, rotate all of them to look a roof with shingles thats are overlapping each other... You know what is the idea?
A cache file to save before the render the geometry, placement etc, sometime in heavy scene (where vrayscatter are legion and proxy like stone, grass and flower cover large area with trees and co...) vrayscatter precompute 2 or 4 minutes before each rendering... It's a pain when you have to move only one or two object in the scene and make a preview in less quality... A rendering which take 2 or 3 minutes take 3X or more that it should do just for "preparing vrayscatter geometry"... So This is what I mean about a "cache" for vrayscatter. And maybe it should be a way for you to create a camera clipping based on it to display only what should be in the camera view and not in the entire scene...

My Impossible wish about a wind system that control ALL proxy in one panel (and bend them for exemple... ok i know what you are about to say... "wind require a setup of trees, branches don't move like the other, and grass ondulate to the wind" BUT i tell you it's my impossible wish and maybe a great challenge )... Do that and i kiss you

I've just seen little thing that could be very great to save memory, i've made a big terrain and scatter it, i've made also a lot of mask to populate precisly this one and i've look that vrayscatter apply proxy on geometry by mask BUT load ALL the surface before to render them. (sorry my english is the worst ever seen in France) And this is a pain for preparing render, so i've test an issue and i dupplicate my mesh and delete all polygon that isn't in the mask... WOW what the result !!! lighter preparation, faster rendering for big scene and everything work fine !

Now my wish ! Could you create a tool to automatically cut the mesh with a bitmap mask and unrendering the new polygon + apply the scatter one to it ? This should be a very very great tool, i think... Thanks !

Working direct with geometry without converting to proxy, Vray and Mental Ray support, many different objects in one scatter and many other features will be available in our new product MultiScatter

multiscatter? damned what is it? could we work with that and our current vrayscatter license or we have to bought one other software... Sounds good all of this, but plleeaaasse tell me this is the same plugin...)
