border spline behaviors (bug)
hi.
not sure if it's a bug but border spline does not work for me as expected. z projection not ortho? I would expect that nothing happens if I move my spline in z axis in my case (see pics). Am I wrong?
by the way: if I create a spline to use as border spline with another grid (different rotation) the results are quite strange (areas where no spline is get affected as if there was another spline affecting density etc.).
only thing I can imagine beside a bug that the scene is huge in dimensions (900 x 600 meters, units set to cm) BUT origin is somewhere in the middle.
EDIT: the screenshot of course only shows a test area of that scene, the distribution plane is 3m x3m
specs:
quad core xeon
16gb ram
win7x64
MultiScatter_1_0_11
max design 2011

I forgot to say:
I LOVE YOUR PLUGIN!
go on developping such great peace of software. really inspiring.

no textures but the proxies are included.
edit: on the left is the scene with the spline created on another grid. just move this rectangle around and see what I mean with strange behavior...

Re: border spline behaviors (bug)
Yes, maybe you right, but now it is way how our algorythm working.
Blur of border depended on distance between spine and surface. It is working like glossy refraction. It is sharp then spline close and blurry then spline is far.
For us it is good way to make process of distribution very fast.
If custumers thing that is a problem, we can make border splines control more precisely but slowly.

I prefer slowly but where i want ! far away

why then the change of projection axis gives different results? that makes no sense to me..admin wrote:It is working like glossy refraction. It is sharp then spline close and blurry then spline is far.

Imagine an uneven surface (hills) covered with grass or something and you want to cut out some areas as second option to a distibution map or a collison object.
Would be great. You then could change the hills of the surface without having adjust the cutout splines.
thanks

Ok, now we are working on improvement of this algorithm
