testing the demo - more cars in the scene

Post by kyouko »

I want to ask something, how can I put more cars on the scene? I added one, but how about more?

I did the following (using city traffic demo):
- set a car and 4 wheels as a car
- cloned as instance, the car, wheels and the "icon", in 125 instances.
- selected all "icons" (the bounding box created around the car), and did "make unique" in all icons.

try to trace and... 3d max crashes. Maybe I did something wrong, or this is too much for my 2 gb ram computer?

The video is amazing. Nice to see the pedestrian and road tools.

But I dont understood the part where you put more than one car on the road. Can you help me?

I am afraid of such operation, because I want to use the program on a big city. I want to do this with the demo version, so I can convince my employers to buy the product.

Can you help me on this one? I saw a explanation on
https://icube3d.com/index.php/plugi ... r_rigging/
but I dont got it well. I also dont know the limitations of the demo version.

Just to ask precisely, I dont got this part, writen on the english help file:

The adjusted car can be copied. For copying it is necessary to allocate a framework of the car
and all attached geometry and to copy in mode Instance, then to allocate all copies of
frameworks and to make their unique.

I dont got this part. First you select the rigged car with wheel and chassis, copy using instance mode, and then... the allocate and unique part was not clear to me.
